Canvas has arrived at UBC!
In June 2017, UBC announced that Canvas will replace Connect (BB Learn) as the core of our learning technology environment. Canvas is a powerful, user-friendly tool for supporting teaching and learning that will allow instructors to be even more creative and efficient in how they teach. September 2017 is UBC’s Canvas soft launch, with nearly 1,000 course sections offered in the new system. UBC Sauder is running a select list of courses in Canvas with limited integration functionality (e.g. iPeer) for this semester (2017W1). We will significantly increase support for January 2018 semester start once all integrations are in place. In September 2018 there will be a full rollover into the new system when Canvas completely replaces Connect. Connect content from previous years will be archived at that time but still available as a resource. We will be reaching out to faculty in the near term to see how soon they will like to transition to Canvas, either for January 2018, Summer 2018 or September 2018.

Learning Services will provide ongoing training sessions and support specific for to UBC Sauder this semester between October and November.
