With high-achieving entry-level talent and a drive to succeed, these MM’s are ready to break into the business world, tackling challenges head on in pursuit of the right solutions and thought leadership.

Ranked 1st in North America and in Canada, UBC Sauder’s Master of Management program equips MM students with Master-level practical and theoretical business training across a range of faculties.

Subject area specialists, with excellent communication and critical thinking skills, thanks to their multidisciplinary approach to business, these critical problem solvers are ready to solve your next business challenge.

  • McKenzie

    Meet Mackenzie Jones

    Exceptional events manager with a passion for people.
    Undergrad in: B.A. International Affairs & Political Science, graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston
    Fun Fact: Mackenzie used to own quails.

    Both Mackenzie’s experience and education is international in scope: she studied abroad in Greece and Switzerland and interned in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    She has amassed hands-on experience in some of the world’s most impactful not-for-profit organizations, from Oxfam America to Americorps, putting her political acumen to practice by volunteering with a campaign for state House of Representatives.

    In the UBC Sauder MM program Mackenzie is rounding out her knowledge and experience with business experience; adding finance, accounting and operations, organizational behaviour and leadership to her arsenal. Renowned for her exceptional organization, communication and management skills, she currently serves as Vice President of Events for the UBC Sauder MM 2019 cohort.

    Not one to shy away from a challenge, Mackenzie consistently seeks out opportunities to make a difference. In her career she hopes to bring people together; she wants to work in event management, HR or HR consulting, or consumer/business research.

  • Bianca

    Meet Bianca Balazic

    The innate qualities of a leader.
    Undergrad in: B.A. in Politics with Honours from Queen’s University
    Fun Fact: A disciplined dancer, Bianca has completed grades 1-8 of the rigourous Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations.

    Bianca is the kind of person people naturally turn to. A skilled communicator, she was selected for a highly competitive executive leadership position as Director of Communications for the Alma Mater Society of Queen’s University, where she led marketing and communications for the $19 million not for profit entity representing more than 17,000 students.

    Before pursuing her UBC Sauder MM, Bianca gained experience in consulting, where she worked directly with the CEO of the company, and at a healthcare startup, where she was responsible for their communications.

    The MM program enhanced Bianca’s already impressive CV with essential business skills in areas that span finance, operations, management and statistics. Able to analyze complex business problems from any angle, she is looking for a role that would place her on a diverse team within a company that values growth in every sense of the term.

  • Jeff

    Meet Jeff Liu

    From startup experience to solving corporate business challenges.
    Undergrad in: B.A., English from Renmin University of China
    Fun Fact: Jeff completed a two-day, 60-km bike ride around Mount Kailash in Tibet.

    A gifted public speaker since his days as an undergraduate student, Jeff was president of the debate society at Renmin University, training more than 100 fellow members and winning the Chinese national best speaker prize.

    Jeff has notable experience in finance and marketing, which he gained during different internships. At AJ Securities, he conducted critical industry analysis to assist with the IPO of a smartcard technology company. At Plug and Play, a Silicon Valley-based incubator, he brought startups, corporations, and investors together.

    During his UBC Sauder MM, Jeff honed his leadership and teamwork skills, thanks to countless opportunities to collaborate with his cohort. He is currently preparing for his CFA Level I exam, which he will write this summer.

    Now, Jeff is looking for a role in a management consulting firm, where he hopes to solve critical business challenges across a number of industries.

  • Siddharth

    Meet Siddharth Trivedi

    From chemical engineering to consulting.
    Undergrad in: M.Eng. Chemical Engineering with Honours, University of Birmingham
    Fun Fact: Siddharth has lived in five countries and is fluent in four languages.

    A bona fide citizen of the world, Siddharth has a truly global perspective on business.

    His experience expands far beyond engineering; he analyzed market trends to attract a $10 million portfolio of investors with bespoke marketing strategies and collaborated with a team of experts to create business intelligence dashboards for a renewable energy startup.

    A natural leader, Siddharth was nominated for inspirational Committee Member, Role Model of the Year and Head of College Idea of the Year as chair of SATNAV Science Magazine.

    In the UBC Sauder MM program, Siddharth gained a holistic understanding of business, expanding his fundamental understanding of best practices. Now, he’s looking for a dynamic environment that would let him use a customer-focused lens in a role in consumer insights, digital and brand marketing.

  • Jennifer

    Meet Jennifer Cao

    Gifted systems thinker with a creative bent.
    Undergrad in: B.Sc. in Food, Nutrition and Health (Major in Food Science) with Honours from The University of British Columbia.
    Fun Fact: A creative thinker, Jennifer is also a creative person: she’s an avid painter.

    A trained scientist and researcher, Jennifer has a gift for systems thinking. Her critical thinking and analytical skills are exceptional. Her drive to give back to the community? Remarkable.

    The list of organizations she volunteers with is almost as robust as the list of extracurricular leadership opportunities she has capitalized on. She completed a Co-op work term with the Animal Genetic Resources Division at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome. She also served as Student Representative on the BC Food Technologists Executive.

    In the UBC Sauder MM program, Jennifer expanded her well-established communication skills and gained sought-after technical skills like product management. Passionate about technology, sustainability and social impact, Jennifer is interested in a career in business strategy, development, project management or brand management.
